Ready for Christmas!

Thanksgiving was a very relaxing and enjoyable break for Jason and I. It was so great to see family on both sides. Especially, since most of them we won't see again until our wedding when we will not have a lot of time to sit down and enjoy their company. Jason and I celebrated with 3 Thanksgivings this year and each one of them was very enjoyable.

With Thanksgiving over, it means back to the grindstone of hard work. I have a little over a week left for my student teaching and Jason has about 2 weeks left of this semester of medical school. He's busy flipping through pages of notes and books with his iPod plugged into his ears pouring out with white noise which allows him to study. I like to think it blocks out the noise of our 2 bulldogs snoring in the living room, rather than me thinking aloud about the hundred things I have to do in order to finish student teaching, graduate on December 20th, get for Xmas, & not to mention the most exciting event of our lives... the wedding.

Tonight I printed, measured, hole punched, and tied ribbon on about 1/3 of our wedding programs. It is times like these when I wish I could snap my fingers and have an assembly line of elves pop up to help me complete the job. I ran out of my paper and ribbon, so tomorrow after I shadow another special education teacher from North West Allen County Schools, I will hit up Office Depot and Hobby Lobby for the remainder of my supplies. My goal is to get these programs done before Jason finishes his last final. He keeps telling me he'll help me in 2 weeks, but you all know me.. I CANNOT wait 2 weeks. I want to get them done so in 2 weeks I can enjoy his full attention and short break from his medical school classes.

Today we met with our dj, it was the first time we met him in person. He is just as pleasant in person as he has been on the phone. I am very happy with our decision and he is going to make our reception move smoothly and just be a huge celebration.  Oh! On Friday evening, I went with Jason's Mom to David's Bridal and picked up my fully altered and BEAUTIFUL wedding gown. We drove it to my grandparents house and it is sitting in an upstairs closet along with my other wardrobe essentials waiting for 26 days to pass so I can wear that GORGEOUS investment! :)

Well, I'm off to kiss the bullies goodnight and call Jason and wish him goodnight since I am no longer with him. In 1 month we'll be living together as man and wife... that sounds wonderful:) Have a wonderful first week of December and be safe on the snowy roads!

Week 20: -1.2lbs!

I just got back from my weekly weight watchers weigh in. This past week I have lost 1.2 more pounds and am only .2 away from hitting my 25lb weight loss! I've been fluctuating for about a month just below 25lbs. I am not disappointed because I've been exercising and eating well, I think it is just getting to the point where it is getting harder to lose the weight. I'm sticking to it though.

I had my first fitting on my wedding dress last week. It felt so great to see the seamstress pin in the sides of my dress. It made me feel really proud of myself on how hard I've worked to eat better and exercise. Plus, I looked so beautiful in it. I go back this Friday with Jason's mom to pick up my dress and try it on one more time before I actually wear it on the big day. I'm so excited!

Student teaching has been going well, I only have 1 1/2 weeks left. It seems crazy how fast the time has flown, but I'm glad. I can't wait to graduate and get started applying for teaching positions. We really need me to get a job since Jason's so busy studying he can't work. I'll be the bread winner with my meager teacher's salary:) That's ok, I love teaching!

Well, I'm off to take the pups for a walk! Have a very blessed Thanksgiving and a great week!

New Glasses & Bulldog's Winter Attire

Today I stayed home from school to go to the doctor after being sick with a bladdar infection forever. Then I went to the chiropractor to get my atlas adjusted since I was getting my migraines back this morning. After those errands, my mom and I went and picked up our brand new glasses. We call them our "Maverick" glasses because we think we look like Sarah Palin in them :) Then we picked up some stuff for my nieces and nephew for Christmas. While at Old Navy we found the dogs outerwear to be 50% off so I justified getting Jason and my bulldogs their own winter coats. This is their major Christmas present from us this year. They look so stinking cute! Well, enjoy the pictures! Only 40 days until the big day, it is CRAZY how fast time flies.
Have a better and healthier week than my start.

Letting go of the teams and uniting as "ONE" people

Last night was such an important and historic time for our country. I carefully watched the election results roll into CNN while checking my home state of Indiana every two minutes to see which way we would swing. After 10pm I went over to Jason's apartment to finish watching the rest of the election with him and our bulldogs. As Obama won Pennsylvania the blue states quickly added up and he was declared our 44th president of the United States. As I wore my Obama shirt with my eyes glued to the television I felt such hope and excitement for our country and the direction we can take it. I thought John McCain's speech after he had lost was very tasteful and respectful. It was very big of him and I believe all the nation respects him and the life he's led for our country in war and politics. At midnight, Jason and I along with the rest of the country watched as Barack Obama took the stage with his family. I thought his speech was perfect and was exactly what we all needed to hear. He was correct when he told the McCain voters that he wants to be their president too. It's going to take the McCain voters and the Obama supporters to put down their team flags and unite to make real change in this country with the guidance of Obama as our president. I respect everyone who voted even those people that voted for McCain. I personally, believe that people need to stop putting up negative messages on their facebook and myspace pages about Obama being elected. While those who are bragging need to stop and embrace the McCain voters. Barack Obama needs all of us (the citizens of this country) to embark on the journey of change together. He can't do it alone or solely with just the people that voted for him, he needs everyone. Young, old, black, white, asian, christian, muslim, jewish, EVERYONE to be supportive, optimistic, and help move our country in the right direction. I am so EXCITED for our nation and so PROUD to be an American!

Thanks for listening to my thoughts, I just feel so inspired!
Have a great rest of the week.

Bridal Shower Photos

Week 17: 0.8lbs lost!

I am so EXCITED that I actually lost weight this past week! I missed the previous week's weigh in due to my bachelorette party in Indianapolis, then yesterday was my bridal shower so I was concerned I might have gained, but I didn't. I lost 0.8lbs which brings me to a grand total of 24 pounds gone! I am so pumped that I am still losing weight and continue to work out. I know on November 11th, when I go get my dress fitted for the first time, it will be such a good feeling to see how baggy it is on me.

I had a great time seeing all my friends and Jason's Mom's friends at my bridal shower this past Saturday. We had around 12 women there and it was really a nice size. My mom, Jason's Mom, and my sister did such a great job making the food, decorating, and making it a nice day. I was especially excited to see my best friend since elementary school! She came up early and did a run through with my hair and how it is going to look for my wedding. I LOVED it! She is so good with hair and making it look perfect, I am excited to see what it looks like with my veil on the big day. I was also really excited to see my room mate Anita from college, she just had a baby girl this past June and it was nice she took time out of her busy day to come.  Overall, the past few weeks have just been a lot of fun.

This coming week Jason's going to fly to Orlando Florida for a doctor conference. IU medical school is paying for him to go as a representative from his IU med class in the Ft. Wayne campus. He is excited and I am too. What a neat opportunity for him to attend that conference!

Wedding plans are moving along nicely, on Friday Jason and his mom came over and helped my mom and I make bows for the pews, assemble table decorations, and we got a lot done. My flowers are complete THANK GOD! I know I've said that before but they really are done. YAY!

Well, that's about it from me for now. I hope you all have a wonderful week. Don't forget to go out and VOTE! You can make a difference!!!
