Wedding Cake Topper

This is my gift from an out of town relative. It is a personalized cake topper of Jason & I. Right now it is in the process of being made. But here is an example of one from their website, along with our bald heads, and my body. I will make sure to post the final picture once it is finished. I am so excited!!!

Vacation!

I am so happy to have some free time!! My parents just left for their 3 week vacation and I am house sitting with Jason. We have the pool and 4 bulldogs to puppy sit so that is not too bad. All the 9 puppies have left so I am glad about that too! I have free time to swim, wedding plan, work out, and spend time with my honey. Bridal fitness is in full swing! 6 months until the big day!!
Love ya!

Wedding Flowers..

This week I've been designing and assembling the boutonnieres for all the men in the wedding. Wow! What a long process! I must admit that I have enjoyed doing it, but it takes a lot more time than I thought. Since the engagement, my mom and I have been hitting up Hobby Lobby when they have their 50% off floral stems to start our collection of flowers and greens for everything we have to make. I have spent many hours in their basement pairing up flowers to greenery, cutting wire, wrapping stems together, and bending to positions I like. I know some of my married friends have already dealt with this, and probably don't have much sympathy for me. I will try and post some pictures of what we have done so far later this week.

Today, the 9 English Bulldog puppies we have been raising our 7 weeks old! They are rolly polly with wrinkles and are the perfect size. We took them to Pet Supplies Plus today along with my mother-in-law's work. They had a great experience out of the house and were loved by many strangers. It will be strange for me to think that in one week they will start going to their new homes. I have been devoted to these 9 puppies since their birth April 17th. I am happy that they will be going to great homes and I will have a lot more free time, but deep down I know I will miss them too. To see all the pictures and the website that I have been running for my parents go to www.silverjackbulldogs.com

Tomorrow Jason's brother will be graduating from Northrop High School and we'll be there for that. I remember our graduation and how excited I was! I am really happy for him, he is so psyched to go away to college in the fall. Then on Sunday is his graduation party, and we'll be there for that too. It will be nice to celebrate with Jason's family and get to mingle as well.

Well, I should get back to other things. I hope everyone has a great week and enjoys the weather! Today was the first day I got in our pool!

Wedding Planning is EXHAUSTING!

This is our wedding cake, but ours will not have roses around it. I absolutely love it!!
Our favorite engagement picture!

Don't get me wrong, I am SO HAPPY for the opportunity to marry my wonderful man. But, I strongly dislike wedding planning! It is not my cup of tea. I am not a very detail oriented bride, I want things to look and be great, but not so much that I'll lose sleep over it. I'm working with a tight budget and I want to stretch my pennies as far as possible. This week I have gotten a lot accomplished. Jason and I registered for gifts at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond, picked and ordered our cake, picked and ordered the mens tuxedos, and prepared our response cards and maps for our invitations. We are just trying to get as much done as possible so we won't have it to worry about when he is starting med school and I'm starting student teaching. We have all the big stuff taken care of, I'm happy! My mom and I put together all the groomsmen boutonnieres but have the rest of the wedding party flowers to finish this summer. I'm really impressed with our craftiness :) This week we also took our engagement photos, so I'll try to post some of those on here.

Today, we took the bully puppies to the vet for their first shots and 6 week check up. They are all very healthy and took the shots like a trooper! I can't believe in 2 weeks they will be going to their new homes and owners. I will really miss them, but will not miss the work!

Tomorrow is more wedding planning and then Saturday my friend Beth is getting married so Jason and I are going to that! Have a great week!

Breanna

Busy Busy...

Well things have been busy for me. Since Jason proposed, we have been compiling a guest list, picking out our invitations, and discussing the thousand other details of our future wedding. I can tell you that wedding planning is not as much fun as you think it would be :) I guess I'm not your typical bride that wants everything perfect. I want a beautiful wedding, but I don't care about nitpicky things like having the most expensive food, cake, dj, and all that stuff. Our big day is DECEMBER 27th 2008! We are really excited! It is almost 7 months away, so we have plenty of time to finalize things. Here is the link to our wedding website I made.

Also keeping me busy are the english bulldog puppies. They will be 5 weeks old tomorrow!! They have all their teeth, are eating food, playing, growling, barking, running, hopping, and are very cute! I have been playing with them a lot on the floor and helping feed them and clean up after them. I feel like a stay at home mom almost :0)

Well, sorry this is a short post but I have to get in the shower. I just got done mowing my parents' whole yard so I stink. I will post more this week. Enjoy the photos of the bulldog puppies!

I'm ENGAGED!!

What a Mother's Day yesterday! My day began at 6am feeding the 3 wk old bulldog puppies and then leaving at 6:30am to drive to Crawfordsville IN to see Jason graduate. My mother and I drove to Fishers with Jason's mom, grandma, and brother and we picked up my dad at my sisters. Then we drove to Wabash College where Jason's dad and his new girlfriend Sue were there with Jason. We attended a baccalaureate at 11am in the chapel of the school, which was beautiful. We had lunch at Jason's fraternity house at noon where we talked and shared memories of Jason's life at Wabash. Finally, at 2:30pm Jason's commencement began and he had graduated Magna Cum Lade from Wabash. I am SO PROUD of him!

The PROPOSAL STORY...

After the commencement all of us went back to Jason's fraternity so we could regroup before driving to Castleton to go to dinner. I followed Jason up to his room to help carry the last few bags of his things down stairs so we could carry them to the van. While we were upstairs he asked me if I would like to go on one last walk with him around campus so he could take back his gown and cap. I said yeah and  we began our walk through the beautiful campus of Wabash College. We walked pass the field house where we worked out when I came on the weekends, the lawn in front of the chapel where we took Fabio to play, and pass the bench that Jason once painted. We were holding hands just reminiscing of his time and the memories we shared at the college. As we moved our way to the arboretum Jason stopped and turned to me and told me that these last 4 years he couldn't have done without me and that he didn't know what else to say but just do it and he got done on his one knee!! Then that is when he asked me to marry him. I didn't even look at the ring until after I pulled him up off the ground and gave him the biggest hug and kiss ever. He then put the ring on my finger and it was beautiful. I could not have asked for a more PERFECT proposal! It was and is so special to me! I LOVE that man soo much!!! Right after it happened 4 of Jason's good friends and fraternity brothers walked up and were cheering and giving us hugs and they asked Jason, "did you do the knee thing?". It was really nice for them to share that moment with us too! When we got back to Jason's frat house our family was sitting in one room together and they greeted us with hugs and kisses. We celebrated our engagement and Jason's big accomplishment at dinner in Castleton at Bucca's. It was one of the best days of my life!!!!

Right now we do not have a set date but have some ideas of when we would like to do it. I'll keep you posted when we figure out the set date :0)

Indiana Primary

Well, it is official Hillary Clinton won the Indiana primary today. I must say I was surprised how close the final count was. Hilary won by 2% more votes that Obama. He held a pretty tight race in the Hoosier state considering he only won Monroe, Lake, Marion, Elkhart, South Bend, & Allen county. I was pretty impressed. I was pleased to see him win North Carolina though! Yay!

This past week has been pretty crazy, I have been coming and going. This past Tuesday I took my last final at IU and am ready to student teach in the fall. I got 3 A's and 1 B. I was pretty pleased with my final semester considering how I started losing momentum at the end. After my final, I moved back home to Ft. Wayne with my parents and their many bulldogs. I have been doing my job for the summer of helping my parents care and raise their litter of 9 english bulldog puppies. The pups all have their eyes open now and are starting to teethe. They are so sweet! I will try to post some updated photos up in the next few days so you can see their growth.

Jason found out that he was placed in Ft. Wayne for the first 2 years of IU Med school. After that, we will move down to Indianapolis to finish his last 2 years of med school at the IUPUI campus. We were kind of bummed out to hear the news that we'll be here in Ft. Wayne longer, but it is okay, it will go by fast. We just want to start our lives together independently away from our parents, in a bigger city like Indy, and in a place where we could get a home. Right now, we have begun our search for apartments for Jason to live in while he attends school. I will continue to live with my parents at their house, we don't want to live together until we are married. The apartments we are looking for must have 2 bedrooms, be bulldog friendly, and have a washer/dryer in them. That is what we want. Oh! And we want a reasonable price! :) That is a pretty important part!

This weekend I am attending a baby shower for a friend of mine from college. I am excited to see her and all the baby gifts that will be thrown upon her. Then on Sunday (Mother's Day), my parents, Jason's Mom & brother, Jason's grandmother, and myself will be driving to Crawfordsville Indiana to attend Jason's college graduation from Wabash College. I am so excited and PROUD to see him graduate. He has worked so hard and he deserves to be celebrated! Of course I hold some bias because I ADORE that man!!

Well, I'm off to bed. I have to get up early for puppy duty & then hit the gym. Hope everyone is doing well! Tomorrow is hump day! The weekend is almost here!!!
